The People & Operations Manager role touches on several important company departments and offers a wide range of challenging activities and responsibilities across these areas including operations, finance, traditional office management, human resources and people management experience.
Based in Melbourne, the role offers agreed flexible office hours over a five day week and is suitable for a candidate with family responsibilities. Your role involves leading two key areas of the business: People / Culture and Physical Operations. Tasks are likely to include
- Supporting the executive team in our overall recruitment strategy and continuously building on Rome2rio’s position as an employer of choice
- Leading and optimising the recruitment process
- Coordinating new hire onboarding and induction
- Developing and updating processes, policies and procedures
- Leading and administering specific people-related projects including periodic achievement reviews and professional development programs
- Developing the company cultural calendar and taking charge of social functions
- Administrative support like making arrangements for meetings and booking travel
- Some financial support like keeping an eye on our expenses
- Managing an office operations budget
- Creating and distributing internal communications
- Traditional office management duties
- Taking care of our physical space and ensuring it is clean and safe
Who we’re looking for
We are looking for somebody fun, energetic and hands-on who is keen to get involved in just about anything. Demonstrable experience in either running office operations or generalist HR management is essential and having experience in both fields is most desirable. A get-stuff-done attitude and willingness to take on any project big or small with enthusiasm is also desired. A passion for travel and/or technology would be an advantage.
You should be capable of working independently and driving projects whilst working closely with others. You’re a great communicator with excellent written and verbal communication skills with the insight to recognise opportunities for improvements to our processes.
You’ll need to have some confidence with or a willingness to learn software like Word, Excel and Google Docs. A knowledge of Xero and recruiting software such as Jazz is advantageous. A passion for quality work and improving the Rome2rio employee experience is essential.
You must be based in Melbourne. To be considered for this role you must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident or have full Australian working rights.
