The People and Culture role touches on several important company departments and offers a wide range of challenging activities and responsibilities across these areas including HR operations, recruitment support, employee experience and office operations. It is ideal for someone looking to make the next step in their career by impacting a growing team and work closely with the executive team.

 Based in Melbourne, the role offers agreed full or part-time hours over a five day week and is suitable for a candidate with family responsibilities. Your role involves:

  • Managing key recruitment projects
  • Supporting the executive team in overall recruitment strategy including the building of Rome2rio’s position as an employer of choice
  • Leading and optimising the recruitment process
  • Coordinating new hire onboarding and also managing staff exit processes
  • Supporting the delivery of people development projects and coaching programs
  • Developing the company cultural calendar with our social club
  • Developing new processes, policies and procedures as required
  • Engaging and negotiating with recruitment and HR  suppliers as required
  • Creating and distributing internal communications as required
  • Leading and administering specific people-related projects as required including quarterly and yearly reviews, professional development programs and our Visa program
  • Supporting the leadership team with office operations tasks such as supplier management and office improvements

Who we’re looking for

We are looking for somebody with experience in a startup or tech environment that has an understanding of agile philosophies and processes. Demonstrable experience in either recruiting or generalist HR is essential and having experience in both fields is most desirable. A get-stuff-done attitude and willingness to take on any project big or small with enthusiasm is also desired. A passion for travel and/or technology would be an advantage as would a fondness for organised chaos.

You should be capable of working independently and driving projects, whilst also working closely with others. You’re a great communicator with excellent written and verbal communication skills and with the insight to recognise opportunities for improvements to our processes and can communicate these ideas to our executive team.

Some technical ability and familiarity with using enterprise software systems is an advantage. A knowledge of Xero and recruiting software such as JazzHR is advantageous. A passion for quality work and improving the Rome2rio employee experience is essential.

You must be based in Melbourne. To be considered for this role you must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident or have full Australian working rights.

Pay and Perks

Expected pay is between $90,000 and $100,000 per annum plus superannuation, depending on your skills and experience. This salary will be offered pro-rata for a part-time employee.
